Protx VSP Form in Detail

With VSP Form, all sensitive transaction information is held at Protx. Email alerts are sent from the Protx servers to Traditional Bathrooms and the customer to confirm the success or failure of the transaction.

The customer is redirected to Protx to enter their card details, so no sensitive information (card details) is stored on the www.victorianbathrooms4u.com site thereby removing the need for www.victorianbathrooms4u.com to maintain highly secure encrypted databases, or obtain digital certificates.

VSP Form Transaction Process

The final "Pay Now" button on our website is the link to the Protx VSP System. The customer will select their purchases, enter their delivery details, billing address and so forth all on the www.victorianbathrooms4u.com site. When the final ‘proceed’ button is pressed, a small script on our server generates an order summary page, listing the customer's contact details, their purchases and the total order amount. At the bottom of that page is a "Pay Now" button which submits the information on that page to the VSP Form gateway.

Whilst generating the order summary page, a simple and easy to modify piece of server-side scripting builds an encrypted hidden field that it places on the form. This field contains all the transaction information in a format that VSP Form can understand. When the user clicks the "Pay Now" button, the encrypted contents of that field get Posted to VSP Form and the customer is presented with the Protx payment pages, where they enter their credit/debit card details and security codes.

Once the customer has selected their payment method and confirmed they really wish to complete the payment, VSP Form requests authorisation from our acquiring bank. Once the bank has authorised the payment, Protx redirect the customer back to the successful payment page on the www.victorianbathrooms4u.com site. If the authorisation fails, Protx redirects the customer to the failure page.
